Young Scot have teamed up with the Scottish Government and Scotland’s Commissioner for Children And Young People to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). As part of the celebrations we are on the hunt for three talented young bands to perform in front of a crowd of over 1,000 people at a special celebratory Young Scot: Sounds Right party on 26th November alongside a big name established act. The event also forms part of 2009's Homecoming celebrations.

It couldn’t be easier to get involved. We're asking bands to simply upload a recording or send us a link to one of their songs. Visitors to this site can then vote for their favourites by rating each band before a panel of judges, including top name musicians and young people, give their opinions.

The top three bands will be invited to play at the high profile event, with the overall winner being announced on the night. The top band will win a rockstar makeover, photo session and free studio time!
